Persuasive Speech Blog: Wildlife Conservation Society

Another speech gone by. Although I scored a higher academic grade than last speech, I found that I actually did much poorer overall than my informative speech, in both delivery and topic. I chose the Wildlife Conservation Society as my non profit organization. I should have definitely went with a topic I had greater knowledge in such as Life Goes On and CF.org but I figured I would learn a little about the organization I definitely support almost as equally as my other favorite. I had alot of trouble finding direct information in regards to sources outside of my organization. I just couldn't locate and supportive information for my cause other than the obvious. I just wasn't prepared.

Also, I am still having the same issues with my approach and delivery. I have always found myself to be a very comfortable speaker. However, I believe I am dampered by the fact that I really don't have a true connection to my audience. It isn't that I don't respect them, I just can't find a way to relate to them, almost as if can only relate to the fact that we all feel that everyone is uninterested and this is just for a grade with no real thought of how our audience feels after listening to a speech.

I will do my best on the next speech to get my audience to connect woth me. I will also try to improve my own process while up in front.
